Our research approach combines the efficiency of office/desk research with the depth of on-site/in-person investigation. In our office, we conduct thorough desk research by analyzing vital documents and databases to gather essential data. Complementing this, we also conduct focused on-site research at archival facilities, where we access original documents and artifacts. This dual methodology not only enriches our understanding but also ensures the highest level of accuracy and reliability.
On-site research conducted in person at federal, state, or local archive facilities includes visits to the U.S. National Archives, Presidential Libraries, Military Libraries, Military Archive Centers, and State Archives.
Off-site office research is conducted at our facility using records and finding aids that are available online. This process includes preparing request forms, compiling research reports, digitizing documents, enhancing their quality, and performing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) on the materials. We utilize both our office resources and online tools to complete these tasks effectively.
On-site research conducted in foreign archives outside the United States includes visits to institutions such as the Bundesarchiv in Germany, the National Archives in Kew, Richmond, Surrey, UK, and the National Archives of Japan in Tokyo. (Eight (8)-hour minimum)
